In recent years, Harris County has experienced serious flooding caused by weather events and outdated drainage systems. In 2017, Hurricane Harvey caused thousands of homes to be flooded, 36 reported flood-related deaths, over 300,000 damaged vehicles. In 2019, Tropical Storm Imelda also caused significant damage. Using federal funds, the Harris County Community Services Department is now leading a project to improve your neighborhood drainage and flood control and requesting federal funds for this process.

For these federal funds to be released, Harris County must conduct Income Surveys in your neighborhood to secure support for starting these improvements and your participation is crucial. In the coming weeks, Outreach Strategies, the consultants selected for this process, will come to your neighborhood to perform the survey and secure the federal support. The surveys will be conducted in person or over the phone.

Your help and support is greatly appreciated!
